Strings Program

The goal of the String Program is to share the love of music-making and build confidence and joy in playing by providing appropriate technical and musical challenges. Combining the best of Suzuki, Rolland pedagogies, and an individualized approach,  students can develop a rich tone and beautiful intonation with daily practice. Repertoire is grounded in western classical music, but we also dive into American and Irish Fiddle tunes.

String students have the opportunity to play in our established or student-organized ensembles, giving them the chance to build deep listening skills and share in the joy of music-making with other instrumentalists. Our 5th and 6th grade students perform every year at the PAC with an all-district orchestra, playing both Suzuki repertoire and orchestral literature.

Students have the opportunity to study violin, viola, or cello starting in 4th grade, and take one or two group lessons per week.
