Volunteering

“The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity and invite the child to conduct his own experiences.”   — Maria Montessori

At APM, we believe in all hands on deck. We need everyone’s time and talents to serve our children’s best interests.

Congratulations! You have found your way to the APM Volunteer Page, and I am assuming that if you know a little bit about Montessori education and the Appleton Public Charter School system, you understand that volunteering your valuable time is an essential component to the success of our school.

Our goal is for EVERY adult parent/guardian to share their talents, perspectives, and time to help with events and activities of the school.

Parent involvement in APM is different than a traditional school model in that helping within the classroom is difficult unless you have training specifically in the Montessori Method. Therefore, we rely greatly upon parent volunteers in many other areas of our school and its operation. Serving on the Governing Board and/or committees of the Board is vital in the successful operation of our school.

Also supervising field trips, tutoring children in reading, assisting in special classroom/school events, attending Time for Me, and sharing your expertise in a field of study are all ways that we love to
see parents involved. Our school families are a large part of our success!

Please watch for the volunteer opportunities sent out by the APM Administrative Assistant, and jump in!

If you can help, please get in touch with the APMA Parent Coordinator, Jane Gresenz, at zjanept@yahoo.com or (920) 450-6955.
